Dr. Mohammed Husni

Dr. Mohammed Husni is the supervisor of Oil Development Studies Unit in Reserves Assessment and Development Studies Division. He has work experience in Saudi Aramco in facilities and projects, production engineering, reservoir simulation and management, and reserves development and planning.

Dr. Husni graduated in 1994 with B.A in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals. After that, Dr. Husni obtained M.S in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University, USA in 2000. In August 2008, he completed his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Michael Schick

Michael has worked in the organizational development and training field for over fifteen years combined with over fifteen years of leadership experience.  He is the co-author of the book, “Leadership – In Service of Others.” He has written many training programs, focusing mainly on leadership and soft skills development.  Michael is certified in many world-renowned programs such as Franklin Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator.  He has experience in manufacturing, municipal government, and is a small business owner.  Michael has served as a lead Professor at Western International University teaching in the areas of leadership, human resources, and business management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Michael holds a Bachelor degree in Business Management and a Masters degree in Organizational Management.  Michael is currently the Supervisor of Leadership Development for the Leadership Development Center at Ras Tanura.

Course Description:

A One-day Journey through Integrated Studies Hands-on workshop using the new era in integrated studies, the “Event Solution”The Event Solution is the new era of integrated studies, the step beyond Asset Management teams. The Event Solution targets technical-to-technical and technical-to-business integration that enables enhanced decision making in a reducedcycle time. The Event Solution cuts the study cycle from years under the conventionalstudy approach to weeks (typically 4 – 8 weeks). A dedicated team from different disciplines works with management to complete full spectrum studies with one objective and fixed deadline. Work is conducted in parallel, at a state-of-the-art center, using integrated tools and shared database. The Event Solution leverage the latest technology, such as: assisted history matching, uncertainty analysis and risk assessment to achieve faster and synergized field development decisions with clarity on critical uncertainty, potential risks and recommended mitigation plans.

In this one-day workshop, the Event Solution team will introduce to the audience the concept and process of this new approach. The attendees will get the chance to quickly go through most aspects of an integrated study using this new process, with hands-on examples and using a state-of-the-art center including latest software, hardware and visualization. This workshop will enable seeing how this new approach can be utilized to conduct detailed studies under compressed study cycle time, yet with higher resolution product. Also it enables seeing how this approach can be mimicked in training environments to accelerate the development of young professionals.

 
 
Dr. Emad Elrafie

Dr. Emad Elrafie is currently the supervisor of the Special Simulation Studies Unit in the Reservoir Description and Simulation Department of Saudi Aramco.  Dr. Elrafie is leading integrated projects in Saudi Aramco that utilizes innovated integrated approaches and processes.  Dr. Elrafie holds a Ph.D. in reservoir simulation from Texas A&M University and formerly held technical and management positions within Gaffney Cline and Associates, Landmark, BP and Amoco and has also taken lead roles in joint ventures in Egypt with Conoco, and Repsol during his 30 years in the industry. Dr. Elrafie has also taught industry courses in integrated studies.

Phil J. Embleton

Phil J. Embleton has almost 30 years experience in technical writing and editing, primarily in IT, and authored ten published books for the commercial market. He began by documenting Commodore 64 software and worked as a technical writer at Callidus Software, E*TRADE and Microsoft. Educated as a high school teacher, Phil taught in Eastern Canada and the Northwest Territories, and taught refugees English as a Second Language. He has been with the Company for over 7 years and is the Review & Approval Editor.

William E. Bradshaw

William “Bill” E. Bradshaw is a technical editor who worked on documentation for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. After retiring in 2001, he worked for several companies as a technical writer before joining Saudi Aramco. He has been with the company for five years and is the editor of the Saudi Aramco Journal of Technology, which features technical articles covering all aspects of Saudi Aramco's business lines.

John Keszler

John Keszler has over 10 years of developing and delivering computer training materials in Adult Education environments in Canada; another 10 years of the same at Saudi Aramco. He has written and produced seminars for executives and their staff; designed and conducted seminars on various computer applications including both microcomputer and main-frame systems. Currently he is performing Technical Writing functions for the Professional Engineering Development Division for Engineering Services.

William Laird Siegel

William Laird Siegel is a corporate communications expert who has worked in communications for more than 35 years in IBM, the U.S. Marine Corps and Saudi Aramco. He also served as a consultant/freelancer for advertising agencies, dot.coms and other clients. Larry is a highly skilled speechwriter, scriptwriter, communications strategist, copywriter, magazine editor and general business writer. He has authored several business and history books and numerous articles.

Dr. Michael Hamarneh

Dr. Michael Hamarneh received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, Masters degree in clinical psychology from the University of Houston, and a Ph. D. (Doctorate) in counseling psychology from the University of Florida.  While at the University of Florida, he developed considerable expertise in the area of multicultural competence and cross-cultural sensitivity training.  He conducted his Doctoral Dissertation on the impact of prejudice and racism.  Dr. Hamarneh became a recognized and sought-after speaker in the area of cultural sensitivity as he tirelessly promoted tolerance, understanding, respect and healing among all people.   Throughout his educational and professional career, Dr. Michael Hamarneh received academic distinction, graduated with honors, induced into several National and International Honor Societies and Registries of Who’s Who.   Dr. Hamarneh is a licensed Psychologist who served in a variety of administrative and management roles, and was instrumental in developing several programs in the US.

Rana M. Al-Ghamdi

Rana M. Al-Ghamdi Has graduated from King Saud University with a bachelor degree in Clinical Nutrition. She worked as clinical dietitian for six years and a half in King Fahad Military Medical Complex, and King Fahad Specialist Hospitals in Dammam. She obtained her master degree in Sports Nutrition from Loughborough University, in UK.  Rana joinedSaudi Aramco in July, 2008 under the health promotion unit (preventive medicine division). Rana has conducted and participated in many health and nutrition conferences, campaigns and exhibitions. She is involved in the healthy weight for life program which focuses on promoting healthy weight and lifestyle throughout the company, and the pediatric weight control program, handling the obese children.

Wafa Al-Azmi

Wafa Al-Azmi Is a preventive medicine advisor, working under the health promotion unit. Wafa joined the company in 1989 after graduating from King Faisal University with a bachelor degree in medical science. In 2005, she obtained her training in Tobacco treatment from the Center for Tobacco Treatment Research & Training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and in 2006 she got the board to be a certified tobacco treatment specialist, as the first certified Saudi female in this field. She is a member of The Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD).
