About the Society of Petroleum Engineers
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not – for – profit professional association whose members are engaged in energy resources development and production. The SPE is the world’s largest professional petroleum engineering society with over 88,000 members from more thank 118 countries worldwide. The SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge related to the oil and gas exploration and production industry and provides services through its publications, conferences, workshops forums, and web site at www.spe.org.
The SPE is the industry-knowledge information source for books and technical journals composed of member-generated content and peer-reviewed papers. The SPE website provides an immediate global connection through its vast online library, distance learning courses, membership information, and online communications. The SPE has six offices worldwide located in Dallas, Dubai, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, London, and Moscow.
About the Society of Petroleum Engineers Saudi Arabia Section
The Saudi Arabia Section was the first to be established in the Middle East in 1959. It has a current membership of over 3,200 members. The SPE Saudi Arabia section’s mission is to provide means for collecting. Disseminating, and exchanging technical information concerning the development of oil and gas resources for the public benefit, and providing oppertunities through its programs for interested individuals to maintain and upgrade their individual technical competences in the areas that benefit the public. This mission is an integral part of the SPE international’s mission.
The section recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and has received several awards last year including the SPE President’s Award for Excellence and outstanding Young Professional program.
