About SPEKSA
SPE is a world wide, individual-member organization serving professional managers, engineers, and scientists in the E&P segments of the oil and gas industry. The SPE is the world largest professional Petroleum Engineering Society with over 55,000 members world wide. The Saudi Arabia Section has a current membership of 600 members and was the first section to be established in the middle east in 1959. The primary mission of the SPE is sharing of industry best practices and technology.
The SPE Saudi Arabia section's mission is to provide means of collecting, disseminating and exchanging technical information concerning the development of oil and gas resources for the public benefit, and providing opportunities through its programs for interested individuals to maintain and upgrade their individual technical competence in the areas that benefit the public. This mission is an integral part of SPE International's mission.
To fulfill this mission, our theme for 2005-2006 is "Excellence Through Communication... Reaching Out". The SPE Board is committed to meet its goals by expanding its membership base, and increasing the international membership which is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for our success. The 2005-2006 SPE Saudi Arabia Section will continue to build on the accomplishments of the past to achieve the year's goals through your support and commitment. These goals will be achieved through a structured well developed program based on monthly technical gatherings, conferences, and technology transfer sessions. In addition, the program committee is developing an In-kingdom and Out-of-Kingdom events that combine both social and technical activities to further foster the bond among its members.
SPEKSA is dedicated to supporting the Mission/Vision of SPE while providing a focus on the Middle East and Saudi Arabia in particular.

Mission
To provide the means for collection, dissemination, and exchange of technical information concerning oil and gas resources, through monthly meetings, technical seminars, and field trips and to strengthen our relations with other SPE sections in the Middle East Region and worldwide.
To support and provide opportunities for interested (and qualified) individuals in our section and the Middle East Region to serve on the international SPE committees, and to share experiences with others.
Vision
To be acknowledged by our members and other professionals as the outstanding
technical society in Saudi Arabia for oil, gas and related industries.
